Chicago bankruptcy attorney explains listing all your bils when you file!

As a Chicago bankruptcy lawyer, I will get the question which bills do I list in my bankruptcy? The answer is that you list all your debts and all your assets when you file a bankruptcy. However, if you have recurring utility bills such as phone, light, electricity bills, and gas bills and you are current on those bills those services need not be listed in a Chapter 7 or a Chapter 13 filing. If you are significantly behind on utility bills then you should list them in a bankruptcy.

The bankruptcy code requires a Debtor to list all assets and liabilities in their filing. You cannot pick and choose what you list and what you don't list. If you forget a creditor you can add it after the filing; however, the court does charge an amendment fee to add a bill after filing. If you are experiencing financial difficulty call an experienced Chicago bankruptcy attorney at 312-489-8182!
