When will I get credit again if I file bankruptcy?

As a Chicago bankruptcy attorney, I will often get a client who asks when will I get credit again if I file for a bankruptcy? Generally, I person will get credit card offers before or after a Chapter 7 bankruptcy discharge. You may ask why will I get credit card offers so quickly. Well that is because you cannot file another Chapter 7 for 8 years. Most people will get offers to finance a vehicle with certain car dealers who look for people who just filed bankruptcy. However, the interest rate usually will be very high and it is to the persons benefit to shop around prior to incurring any credit. In most cases it makes more sense to not finance a vehicle and purchase a reasonable used car if at all possible. I have been representing debtors for 8 years now and I am an experienced Chicago bankruptcy lawyer who offers a free consultation. If you are experiencing financial difficulty please call my office for a free consultation at 312-489-0227.
