      Bankruptcy among college graduates grows!

In this article by CNN, bankruptcy "has gotten more educated over the past five years. Financial distress has spread to more of the population and those who have higher education. The statistics according to the article state that the rate of college graduates filing for bankruptcy have increased by more than 20%. Married Americans were one of the ones hit hardest and represent more than 60% of all Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 filings. When asked of the causes of bankruptcy most people in the study reported they had overextended their credit, had a significant reduction in income, or had lost their jobs. Other causes were death of a family member, illness or injury but those numbers decreased from previous reports.

With unemployment at nearly 10% college graduates are finding harder and harder to find a job once graduating from college. Further, most graduates have significant student loan debt which is almost impossible to discharge in a bankruptcy.
